Shalfleet Little Explorers is West Wight's leading childcare setting providing a full range of childcare services. Open 50 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday from 08.00 - 17.00, we provide childcare services from three months to four years, as well as delivering Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club services for working parents. Our dedicated team of staff work tirelessly to maintain the excellent level of care for your children. This exceptional standard of care is confirmed by our recent OUTSTANDING OFSTED REPORT in many key areas.

At Little Explorers every child is individual and has their own learning journey, carefully monitored and documented. Each child's records are meticulously maintained using PRAMs, and are always available for you to review on request. We operate in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and implement the ECAT programme to ensure that when your child starts school they are a confident communicator.

Our close partnership with ShalfleetPrimary School ensures a seamless and happy transition from Pre-school foundation stage into reception year with flexible interchange between, allowing children to make the move when they are confident and happy. Our staff work closely with the school reception year staff to ensure that individual needs of each child are fully understood when they transfer into School.

Shalfleet Little Explorers is a registered charity and as such operates under a formal constitution approved by the Charities Commission. Our highly skilled staff is supported by a voluntary management committee who help steer the commercial aspects of the business whilst empowering the staff to focus as much attention as possible on caring for the children. The management committee is always keen to recruit new members from all backgrounds so do enquire if you can spare a few hours each month to make a big difference.
